How does the system work?

As the water enters your property the first step is the treatment of the calcium & magnesium. This is where the action starts. This is made possible with the use of a Limetron water conditioner. As the water passes through the Limetron water conditioner, the adhesive components around the mineral particles in your water are separated, then as the water flows out of the Limetron water conditioner, the mineral particles are free from the adhesive components.

This then stops the mineral particles and salts from adhering to your pipes and appliances and blocking them up ensuring a shorter life. Over time you should also see old scale & rust buildup removed from throughout your system.

Stage 2: Purefer 5 Micron Polyspun Sediment Water Filter Replacement Cartridge 20" x 4.5"

Purefer Spun Filters are manufactured using Virgin 100% Polypropylene that is blown and spun simultaneously to form the filter cartridge. This process allows the cartridge to be manufactured without using a centre core which would restrict performance. Melt blown filters also do not contain adhesives or binders so there is no chemical residual left in the filtered water.

Free chlorine can be easily removed from water with minimal contact time, however now most municipal water supplies in Australia are using Monochloramine. Monochloramine is an ammonia bonded Chlorine molecule (NH2Cl) which is an inorganic compound. While monochloramine is noted to produce lower (but still present) levels of chlorocarbons and carbon tetrachloride levels, there are other known health risks that can be far more serious.

The addition of Chloramine to the water supply can increase exposure to lead in drinking water, especially in areas with older infrastructure. Australia has a large percentage of old buildings where this can be a serious risk. In some cases, with older buildings, it has been noted that the mixture of monochloramine and Fluorosilicic Acid can even dissolve metals such as copper pipes, causing green/blue staining in the water and damaging plumbing.

Where to install your new water filter system
